love notes - testimonials

Cassie photographed by Sam Bufalo

“One word: Magical.”

Sam captured every emotion, every tear, smile, and tender moment perfectly. Without a doubt, Sam's photos are some of the most beautifully taken and beautifully edited pictures I have EVER seen. Each time I look through those pictures, I am transported back in time. For her to instill that ability through images, is magic.

“I can't recommend anyone more for any of your photography needs. Sam is IT!”

She has photographed my family for many years, for several different occasions, and each album is more beautiful than the last. We look forward to our shoots with Sam and get so excited when our photos come back. Can't wait for another excuse to get behind her lens!

“I am blown away by her eye and talents and I can’t imagine this day without her."

Sam’s incredible talent is something I dreamed of for my wedding since the day I heard about her (years ago). I put it right into the universe that she was going to shoot my wedding and at the time I was not even engaged! Sam was accommodating, even in the wave of chaos over the last few months, she came to us with a huge smile and captured the most special moments of our life. I don’t think I could come up with enough words to express my deep admiration for Sam. We appreciate you so much.

Tell us more about the team.

Working with the Sam Bufalo Wedding team means you have trusted, highly-trained professionals preserving the moments that’ll fly by too fast - and the ones you want to savour forever - all with our raw signature style + quality. Sam oversees the vision,2 or 3 additional photographers from the team will be there the day of to create in-real-time magic with you, and as you’re enjoying your honeymoon, Sam will be combing through every moment, editing and perfecting your gallery for the richness + emotion you’ll relive for the rest of your lives

Where can we see a sample wedding video?

For video, you can choose between a standard wedding video (featured films, here) or Super 8 (featured films, here). Videos are customized to the vibe of the day. Each celebration is unique, so we’ll work together to create some magic of what you're envisioning.

Can we book more than 7-8 hours for our wedding day?

Absolutely. We are therefor you as long as you need us. However, most of our couples find that 6-8 hours is plenty of time for a full-day wedding. Once you have your final timeline details sorted you’ll have a better idea of what time you’d like us to arrive. Usually, the best time to have the photo team arrive is during the tail end of getting ready. And for most weddings, we head out sometime during the 2nd half of the reception/dancing. We recommend waiting until your wedding date is a bit closer to add coverage time.

Will there be travel fees?

There are many locations within NY and CT that are included. However, if the team will be driving more than 60 miles, additional fees will apply. Please reach out for a custom quote.

Do you send raw/unedited images?

No. We do not send raw/unfinished images because post-production is half the process and magic that goes into our work. We promise to never leave out memories. If you feel something is missing, just ask.

Do most couples end up booking a 2nd photographer?

It depends. A second photographer is a good idea if you have multiple getting ready locations and you feel strongly about preparation images from both. We also recommend booking a second photographer if you have more than 125 guests so you have multiple cameras catching moments throughout your celebration.

Will our guests be able to see all of our photos?

Yes, it's super easy. You will have a private gallery with a link to share with anyone you’d like to have access. From there your family and friends can view, download and order prints.

What is the most helpful tip to keep in mind when planning photography for our wedding day?

Look up the golden hour for your date/location. Golden hour is the hour of time right before the sun sets. The light is the most magical and couples usually end up loving these photos the most. If there was one tip I could give to anyone planning photos on a wedding day, this would be it (especially if you have beautiful outdoor scenery). Keep in mind that we will also work closely together to build your timeline. Usually, a month or two prior to your wedding date will be a good time to connect on this.
